Type 2 Diabetes 101
This three-part group class offers a basic foundation of knowledge about diet, glucose monitoring, exercise, and medication. Taught by nurses and dietitians certified in diabetes education.
Comprehensive Diabetes Education
This five-part class offers in-depth education. Participants spend individual time with a physician, nurses, and dietitians specializing or certified in diabetes. Attention is dedicated to specific needs and medication adjustments as needed.
For individuals that are diagnosed with prediabetes (HbA1c of 5.7-6.4). This year-long class meets weekly for 4 months and then once a month for the remainder of the year. Each class is 1 hour in length and offered in a supportive group setting. The Centers for Disease Control reports that 58% of individuals that take this class reverse the risk for prediabetes! Must be at least 18 years old and have a body mass index of at least 25 (22 if Asian).
