The DECM staff consists of nurses, dietitians, and consulting endocrinologists who work together to help educate and empower people living with diabetes. Most staff members are Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE), and together they have more than 70 years of experience in diabetes management and education.
Julie Evans, RN, BSN, CDE
Julie received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Dakota in 1986. She has worked with diabetes patients for more than 25 years in both hospital and clinical settings. She became a CDE in 1998. Julie has a personal interest in helping patients manage their diabetes—her husband, Todd, has type 1 diabetes and she understands the daily challenges of living with the disease. She really enjoys teaching her patients the survival skills necessary to live full lives.
Mary Stuhr, RD, LMNT, CDE
Mary received her Bachelor of Science degree in food and nutrition in the Coordinated Undergraduate Program from Iowa State University. Before coming to DECM, she worked in diabetes education, outpatient medical nutrition therapy, and acute care nutrition at Alegent Creighton, Clarkson Hospital, and county and municipal hospitals in Iowa. Mary enjoys teaching diabetes education classes and working one-on-one with people who have diabetes.

Timothy O. Wahl, M.D.
Dr. Wahl is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. His medical education began at the University of Nebraska, and he earned his Medical Degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in metabolism, endocrinology, and genetics at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Wahl was in private practice with Diabetes & Endocrine Associates, P.C., located in Omaha.
Dr. Wahl has served on the Board of the Metro Omaha Medical Society, as president of the Omaha Mid-West Clinical Society, as president of the State and Regional Boards of the American Diabetes Association, and on the National Board of Directors for the American Diabetes Association.
Claire Hutchins Baker, M.D.
Dr. Baker is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She began her medical education with a bachelor’s degree at Nebraska Wesleyan University and earned her Medical Degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She did her internship and residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis before completing her fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, specializing in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism.
Dr. Baker began practice with Internal Medicine Associates in 2004. In October 2005, she partnered with Dr. Timothy Wahl to form Diabetes & Endocrine Associates, P.C.
Sarah B. Konigsberg, M.D.
Dr. Konigsberg is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She received a bachelor’s degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she received her Medical Degree and completed her internship, residency, and fellowship. During her fellowship, she specialized in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism.
Dr. Konigsberg joined Diabetes & Endocrine Associates, P.C. in 2008.
